Product

Kelvin is an intelligent factory optimization platform to improve performance, throughput, and efficiency of the production line. Kelvin helps factory engineers monitor multiple sensors on the factory floor to identify bottlenecks and improve production capacity, quality, and reduce scraps and operating costs.

The platform doesn’t use historical data to perform optimizations. It uses reinforcement machine learning algorithms to learn the features of the system and adapt from the first day. Engineers can build their own machine learning model in a sandbox environment to optimize specific variables of the manufacturing process. The models use real-time data input to predict optimal output mechanics. Once the model proves to be efficient, it can be deployed to the actual manufacturing process for operators to use. The manufacturing models are continuously monitored and analyzed to provide real-time control recommendations to improve production quality. Kelvin provides API access, which helps control the automated processes of the factory.

Kelvin provides a user level authentication feature to let administrator assign staffs and operators access specific section within the platform.

History

Alex Appelbe and Bashir Beikzadeh founded the company in May 2017 and is headquartered in London England. Alex previously had 10 years of manufacturing experience as a mechanical engineer before founding the company. Alex met Bashir, software and electrical engineer, a machine learning expert during his time in Entrepreneur First’s accelerator program.
