"Founded in 2009, Hevel is Russia's only vertically integrated manufacturer of solar modules. The company focuses on high-tech production of high-efficiency
solar modules using one of the world's most advanced technologies, turnkey construction and operation of solar power plants, as well as R&D activities in the field of photovoltaics.
Hevel (a joint venture between Renova Group and Rusnano) was founded in 2009. An investment agreement on creation of solar module production in Russia was signed on June 4, 2009 by Anatoly Chubais, the general director of Rusnano, and Viktor Vekselberg, the head of Renova.
In 2018, Rosnano's stake (49%) was sold to Mikhail Sivoldayev's Ream Management.
"Hevel is Russia's first and only full-cycle plant, where the entire process of solar module creation takes place, from raw material supply to shipment of finished products, including the most high-tech process step - production of the heterostructured photovoltaic cell, which is the "heart" of the module.
The plant with a total area of 27,180 square meters is located in Novocheboksarsk, Chuvashia Republic. Production at the plant runs continuously and in shifts 24 hours a day. The company is dynamically developing throughout its history, creating additional jobs in the region. Today more than 600 people work at the plant.
Today the production capacity of the plant is more than 340 MW/year of photovoltaic products. "Hevel produces high-efficiency solar modules and cells which meet the world quality standards.
Hevel products are in demand not only on the Russian market, but also abroad. Since 2018 heterostructured solar modules and cells have been exported to such countries as Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, India, Thailand, Japan, etc.
Since 2019, the plant has started producing bilateral solar modules using heterostructured technology. Bilateral heterostructured solar modules produce up to 30% more electricity over their entire life cycle compared to single-sided modules.
"Hevel manufactures:
- high-efficiency photovoltaic cells,
- Single- and double-sided solar modules up to 380 W
Solar cells and modules are made by heterostructural technology, which combines the advantages of thin-film and crystalline technology, providing a high level of solar cell efficiency (up to 23.5%), ranking among the top five in the world for energy efficiency.
1) up to 10%* increased generation per square meter of area due to the low temperature coefficient
2) Up to 13%* more efficient use of space and savings on components
3) up to 21%* increment of total output during the module's lifetime, due to low degradation
Heterostructure technology is a hybrid of crystalline and thin-film solar cell technologies. Today Hevel's solar modules are among the world's top 5 in terms of efficiency.
Since 2018 the company has been exporting solar modules and solar cells to Europe and Asia.
In 2019 the capacity of the plant was increased to 260 MW and serial production of double-sided solar modules using heterojunction technology began.
In 2020 the capacity of the plant is increased to 340 MW of solar panels per year .
