Drone Space AI is a London-based artificial intelligence company specializing in developing technology that enables unmanned vehicles, both aerial and ground, to work interactively. The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) can collaborate with the unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) to accomplish swarm coordination tasks that would otherwise be difficult for humans. Some tasks include security for instances such as car chases, search and rescue in dire situations, inspections for the maintenance of air crafts, site-patrolling surveillance, and simulation for cityscapes and conditions.
The UGVs have LiDAR capabilities, which functions to measure distance the same as radar, but uses light from a pulsed laser rather than sound. The UGVs are tethered to the UAVs in areas with poor network connections so that the drone receives clear commands. The UAVs can also work independently of the UGVs in areas where network connections are strong.
The UAVs have a feature that allows the user to give them commands via smartphone app or dedicated microphone. It can also display video of the area beneath it on a smartphone or monitor at the pilot's request. What results is technology capable of swarm coordination tasks with minimal risk of detection due to the stealthiness of drones and the UGVs using no visible light.
