Digital Surge is an Australia-based company that has developed a platform for Australians to access more than 300 digital currencies through buying, selling, and exchanging. It was founded in 2017 and is located in Brisbane. The stated aim of the company is to guide and educate its users through the cryptocurrency market.
The platform was designed to be user-friendly and provide inclusivity to the cryptocurrency sector, even with novice users. Users can sign up by creating an account or connecting through Facebook and then downloading the mobile or desktop app. Deposits can be made via PayID or POLi with the Australian dollar (AUD), and there is a two-factor security process for withdrawals. Those deposits are made into the user's Digital Surge wallet, which can be used to send, receive, and store cryptocurrencies. Users can make a portfolio of investments in more than 300 cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether.
On November 16, 2022, Digital Surge suspended activity on the platform due to the volatility of the cryptocurrency market. The company specifically linked the suspension to the crash of another exchange platform, FTX.
