Cignifi

Cignifi is a company providing a credit and marketing analytics platform enabling telecom operators, retailers, lenders, and insurers to reach underserved customers who have limited or no credit histories using mobile phone usage data. It uses artificial intelligence-based big data modelling and analytic tools to identify, score, and underwire credit to middle- and low-income consumers who have been historically invisible to lenders.

Cignifi is working with mobile operators and financial partners in Brazil, Ghana, Mexico, Chile and elsewhere to help identify qualified leads, lower the costs of acquiring customers, and underwrite loans to consumers with no formal credit history.

Jonathan Hakim founded Ciginifi in 2010. Cignifi is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts and has offices in São Paulo, Mexico City, and Accra, Ghana. Its investors include LeapFrog, Alex Goldberg, American Express Ventures, Carolina Dams, John Carlson, Omidyar Network, Rohit Bodas, and Thomas Varghese.
