Celestia Aerospace is a company that is developing a technology to have an airborne orbital delivery system. They are planning to use a fighter plane to launch nano-satellites.
The company looks to provide turn-key solutions for companies that are looking to do research and development on technologies in low Earth orbit, and they are using a fighter plane to launch nanosats. Their launch system is named the Sagittarius Launch System, and it uses the MiG-29 fighter jet which is available on the private market as a de-militerized airplane.
Their business structure allows them access to niche markets such as biopharma, semiconductors, communications, remote sensing, and space-based component testing. They claim that each nanosat they will work to take to space for various reasons, will cost no more than 200,000 Euros. They are interested in becoming an engine for European space industry growth.
