Califia Farms makes plant-based dairy products (primarily almond based) such as plant-based milks, plant-based creamers, juices, and dairy-free probiotic yoghurts. The company was founded in 2010 by Greg Steltenpohl and is headquartered in Los Angles, California. Califia Farms is named after the Spanish legend of Califia, a warrior queen that ruled over a bountiful and mythical island called California. Califia is pronounced like California but without the "orn".
The CEO of Califia Farms, Greg Steltenpohl, has a vision for Califia Farms to "make it easy for people to go plant-based and dairy-free with better packaging and more enticing flavors". Califia Farms is in line with CEO Steltenpohl's vision for the company, offering 60+ plant-based and dairy-free products. Between 2015 and 2017 Califia Farms lowered the total sugar used to make their products by 40% in an effort to offer their customers products that will help them live healthier lives by consuming less sugar.
