The platform allows users to deposit funds through SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) transfers, which are available in thirty-six countries, as well Instant SEPA; International Wire Transfers; ACH (Automated Clearing House) payments, which are available to US residents; and credit/debit card.

Card purchases are available for all EU member states, as well for most US states; a variety of other countries are supported. Bank deposit and withdrawals are available only for personal bank accounts.

Bitstamp offers Ethereum (ETH) staking since April 2021. Staking allows users to use ETH to earn crypto by locking assets on the Ethereum blockchain for a period of time.

Fee tiers are based on a client's total trading volume over the past thirty days. Trading volume is calculated across all trading pairs and is expressed in USD, based on the exchange rate at the time of the trade. A trader will be moved into a new fee tier up to a few minutes after reaching the requirement for that tier.

Referral program

The Bitstamp referral program allows users to invite new people to join Bitstamp, using referral link available on their accounts. Both the current user and referral receive a $20 reward.
