The Bitstamp platform supports the conversion of multiple currencies (both fiat and cryptocurrencies) including USD, EUR, Ripple, Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum. Bitstamp provides secure and transparent instant fiat and cryptocurrency trading accessible by users through their web browser and mobile applications available for IOS and Android. The platform allows users to deposit funds through SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) transfer, international wire transfer, and credit card.

On October 29, 2018 Bitstamp was acquired by NXMH. NXMH obtained an 80% majority stake in Bitstamp for an undisclosed fee.
On March 17, 2014 Bitstamp completed a venture funding round with $10 million in funding from Pantera Capital.
Equity crowd funding
On January 5, 2017 Bitstamp completed their equity crowd funding round with $1.3 million.
