nfty chat is a better way to chat with your web3 frens. No username or password required. Just connect your wallet and start chatting. It's free.
Why does nfty chat exist?
In the summer of 2021, the founder of nfty chat bought a dot eth name from Ethereum Name Service (ENS). Slobo.eth became his web3 identity, yet there was no place to chat as “slobo.eth”. At the same time, his close friend got scammed on Discord by a fraudulent bot. So he created nfty chat—a communication platform for all web3 citizens. Safe from bots and spam, yet full of fun. gm frens.
Is nfty chat decentralized?
Your username on nfty chat is and always will be 100% decentralized. In fact, there is no way to create a username on nfty chat, you have to bring your own.
Other aspects of nfty chat are currently centralized, such as where the messages are stored. We plan to progressively decentralize nfty chat's functionality over time.
