VI Partners is a venture capital and private equity firm investing in healthcare, biotechnology, and software companies that is headquartered in Altendorf, Switzerland and was founded in 2001 by Alain Nicod, Arnd Kaltofen, Daniel Gutenberg, and Diego Braguglia. The firm took over the advisory of the Venture Incubator Fund when the company was founded in 2001. The Venture Incubator Fund was created in 2000 by its two strategic partners McKinsey & Company and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). The purpose of the fund is to support startup companies based in Switzerland. Shareholders of the Venture Incubator Fund are ABB, Sulzer, Schindler, Hilti, Zurcher Kantonalbank, Suva, Buhler, Novartis, Credit Suisse, and Nestle.
