Stratum AI is a company which looks to identify how much gold may be in the ground at any given spot by drilling holes in the ground. The company was founded by Daniel Mogilny, and Farzi Yusufali, in 2018, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The company looks to evade the high costs that are generally involved with drilling multiple holes in the ground by utilizing deep learning in order to predict where gold may be mined, along with various other metals. Stratum AI's process includes collecting drill hole data, which is sourced by physically drilling down to 100 meters into the ground, analyzing the core samples that are taken at multiple depths from each rod and sent to an offsite chemical lab, and then collecting blast-hole and milling data to understand density data.
Their resource models are updated in real-time to reflect new data. These techniques allow Stratum AI to send less waste to the mill, to avoid excavating low grade blocks, and increases their chance of recovering minerals of value at the mill. The company's mission is to create the world's most intelligent mines using artificial intelligence.
