Stackin' is a text message-based financial wellbeing platform designed for millennials and generation Z that participated in Class 107 - Los Angeles 2017 Q3 cohort of Techstars and raised an estimated $2,750,000. The platform offers users financial and investment tips through intelligent personalized text messaging.
In July of 2019, the company reported having over 500,000 unique users that were leveraging the platform to save money, through automation, and begin investing. Additionally, in 2019, Stackin' introduced its Stackin' Cash high-interest checking account where account owners received 1% interest APY on the full deposit balance in partnership with Radius Bank. However, in mid-2020, Stackin' dissolved its relationship with Radius Bank to focus on its new investing platform. The company's CEO stated in an interview that "as a referral product, we don’t even want the appearance that we’re trying to compete with the neo-banking space."
Stackin', in addition to text messages, sends out videos and other forms of media to offer financial advice to its users. In early 2020, the platform reported having over 1,000,000 users with 500,000 of the users actively using the product. The company continues to make recurring revenue by suggesting fintech products that are related to the user's end goal. For example, if a user is generated from an advertisement about investing, that user will receive investing tips for the first few months of enrollment before the application starts sending more general financial advice.
