Nest is a Palo Alto, California-based developer of home automation and IoT products founded in 2010 by Tony Fadell.
In February of 2018, Google hardware announced that Nest had merged to become part of the hardware division, which also served as home to Chromecast and Google Home. Nest remained at its headquarters located in Palo Alto, California, but the CEO, Marwan FawazMarwan Fawaz, began directly reporting to the head of hardware Rick Osterloh. In June of 2018, Fawaz stepped down as CEO, and Nest was merged with Google's home devices team headed by Rishi Chandra. In 2019, Google rebranded all of its Google Home Hub products under the umbrella name Google Nest Hub.
