MetaGO was a game designed based on the Pokémon Go game and was developed specifically for the metaverse, rather than Web 2.0, on which Pokémon Go is played. The game allowed players to collect and catch non-fungible token (NFT) characters in the metaverse, gaining experience on how to strategically play the game. Players were competing with each other to catch the NFTs. Each NFT had a different combination of characteristics, with some more rare and valuable than others. The rarer the NFT, the more players would most likely be competing to capture it.
MetaGO also had a token (MGT) that operated on the Binance Smart Chain. The game was a play-to-earn (P2E) game, and players would earn this token. It was deployed on January 26, 2022, and there was a total supply of 1,000,000,000. The token was exchanged on PancakeSwap, BSCswap, Anyswap, and several other exchanges. There are signs indicating that the project was ended in February 2022 with the value of MGT crashing, no updates to an unofficial Twitter account, and a deadlink for the game's official website.
