Maverick is a permissionless derivatives protocol with a liquidity bootstrapping mechanism called the "Automated Liquidity Placement vAMM." Liquidity providers can utilize Maverick to locate enhanced yield farming opportunities for different ERC20 tokens they hold. The platform's Gaussian Automated Liquidity Placement mechanism eliminates the need for constant liquidity management.
In February 2022, Maverick Protocol announced $8 million in funding from investors to launch its automated liquidity-placement (ALP) technology plus open asset-listing model. The platform's fundraising round was led by Pantera Capital, including investors like Altonomy, CMT Digital, Gemini Frontier Fund, Jump Crypto, Spartan Group, Tron Foundation, and others.
The funding was slated to help Maverick release its mainnet product in mid-2022 as well as scale its protocol by developing its core machine-learning plus business team. The platform's mission is to increase the reach of decentralized derivatives via an inclusive approach to crypto asset listing. Maverick offers Gaussian (ALP) virtual AMM, a mechanism that can automatically position liquidity based on the market price.
