Galia Benartzi is an American Tech Entrepreneur known for building software startups and is currently working on a Cryptocurrency protocol called Bancor.
She was born in Palo Alto, California to Israeli parents. By the time that she was in junior high, she and her family moved back to Israel. She later returned during her high school years.
After graduating high school, she attended Dartmouth University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Comparative literature with a concentration in Hebrew and Politics.
Galia was the CEO of Particle Code (acquired 2011) and one of its founders. Before Particle Code, Galia co-founded Mytopia, a leading social games business acquired by 888 (LSE: 888). At Mytopia, Galia ran business development and helped raise its first round of financing.
She later became a venture partner for Founders Fund.
She has since founded Bancor. The Bancor protocol Foundation was established in 2017 in order to promote the development and adoption of the Bancor protocol, a standard for the creation of intrinsically tradable tokens.
Galia was recognized by Forbes and Glamour Magazine as a leading woman in crypto; she has been featured on BloombergTV and CNBC, and has a spoken at the United Nations, TEDx and the Oslo Freedom Forum on monetary theory and innovation. Galia previously co-founded Mytopia, the first social gaming company for smartphones (acquired by 888), and Particle Code, a cross-platform development technology for mobile applications (acquired by Appcelerator).
She was a Venture Partner at Peter Thiel's Founder's Fund, a founding member of Summit Powder Mountain, and the organizer of Bretton Woods 75, a commemoration event evaluating the historic monetary accords.
