Engidi

Engidi is a Barcelona-based technology company that has utilized the Internet of things to create a wearable that monitors workers' safety in an industrial setting. It has the stated mission to become the global leader for the digital transformation of Occupation Risk Prevention.In addition to its office in Barcelona, the company also has an office in Santiago, Chile.

The company's product is known as NGD-One and is a wearable that is placed inside an industrial worker's personal protective helmet to monitor the person's safety. The wearable can be placed on safety vests or belts as well. It has multiple features to ensure the safety of the wearer, such as a location system, helmet use sensors, an altimeter, and a feature to monitor impacts and falls as well as thermal stress. There is also a rescue button that can be activated in case of an emergency.

The data collected by the wearable is sent through the Internet of things connectivity to the Engidi platform. On the platform, Occupational Health and Safety Managers can view the activity of the workers in order to improve workplace safety, such as the prevention of occupational hazards.
