Emerald Cloud Lab (ECL) is a San Francisco-based company with a focus on using robotics within the biotechnology context. The company's stated goal is to build a system that eliminates the daily grind that scientists face in the laboratory regarding research, allowing for them to focus on orchestrating science and experiments.
The ECL is a physical laboratory that can be accessed remotely by scientists via the cloud and the experiments are carried out by robotic devices per each scientist's specifications. To use the ECL, scientists can send their samples to an ECL facility and design the experiment using the company's application. The experiment is then conducted remotely in an automated facility and the results of the experiment are entered into the ECL Constellation platform. This platform organizes the data obtained from the experiment into graphs and is capable of updating using data when future experiments are conducted. The results can be analyzed using the ECL Command Center using tools that are available on the platform.
