East Central University (ECU) is a public educational institution located in Ada, Oklahoma, United States. It was founded in 1909 and is accredited by several organizations, such as the Higher Learning Commission, the National Association of Schools of Music, and the Accreditation Council. ECU is also accredited by governing bodies in higher education and specific fields, including the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, the National Council For Accreditation Of Teacher Education (NCATE), and the Council on Rehabilitation Education.
