Dharmesh Shah has a B.S. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Computer Science and has graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an M.S. in Management of Technology in 2006. Sharmesh Shah's areas of specialization include entrepreneurship, software development, internet marketing, and search engine optimization. Prior to founding HubSpot, he was founder and chief executive officer of Pyramid Digital Solutions, a software company acquired by SunGard Data Systems in 2005.
Dharmesh Shah co-authored two online marketing guide books with Brian Halligan entitled "Inbound Marketing, Revised and Updated: Attract, Engage, and Delight Customers Online," and "Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs," which had been published in 2009 and 2014, respectively, by Wiley. He also authors OnStartups, an online startup blog and is an angel investor in over eighty startups.
