Daniel Ha is an American entrepreneur best known for being a co-founder and the CEO of Disqus. Daniel Has was born in Miliptas, California. As of 2020, he resides in San Francisco where he works on writing and speaking about startups and being an amateur race car driver.
From 2004 to 2007, Daniel Ha attended University of California, Davis where he studied computer science and engineering. He dropped out in 2007 to pursue building a startup.
Since his departure in Disqus, Daniel Ha has focused on advising and investing for startups. He has made investments in Golden and Queenly, and has acted as an advisor for Prime and Inventr.
In 2007, with Jason Yan, Daniel Ha founded Disqus, an internet-based audience platform. Daniel Ha was the CEO of the company until the company was acquired by Zeta Global at the end of 2017. During his time at Disqus the company was backed by Union Square Ventures, Y Combinator, North Bridge Venture Partners, Iris Capital, and others.
Disqus was started while Daniel Ha and Jason Yan were thinking about the future of online communities and their impact on media and trying to create a startup. Through this, they developed the blog comment hosting service.
From September 2005 to April 2006 Daniel Ha worked in the engineering lab of University California, Davis.
In 2006 Daniel Ha worked as an engineering intern for VMware in Palo Alto, California.
