Crypto collectibles are cryptographically unique digital assets that are typically visual representations of real-life objects, such as digital pets, tokens, or avatars. Crypto collectibles may also be referred to as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) due to their non-fungible properties, or unique digital identifiers that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided and are verified through the blockchain. Almost all crypto collectibles utilize Ethereum's blockchain network. The two properties that allow crypto collectibles to exist are unique digital identities combined with digital scarcity. Notable crypto collectible projects include Decentraland, CryptoKitties, CryptoPunks, Rare Pepes, Spells of Genesis, fanbits_2, and fanbits.
