Cosmic Horizon is a space trading game built with Cosmos SDK and its own application-specific blockchain.
Cosmic Horizon pays homage to and inspiration from the pioneers of strategy and space trading games of the past. The general concepts established by these classics helped inspire this modern, blockchain-based approach to a new trading/strategy game.
The in-game experience will include dynamic gameplay utilizing a 2D cockpit interface in some modes and a fully immersive environment in other modes (e.g. when interacting with other players in the Star Dock). The Star Dock and planet experiences are meant to simulate a community-bas
Although it is not required, and players may enjoy the game as privateers, corporations are a critical tool enabling collaborative play. Corporations are able to own and manage resources collectively.
Most players will find greatest success in the long term by forming or joining a corporation and reaping the benefits of its collective efforts. The size of a given corporation is limited, so you will need to select your collaborators carefully.
A player's engine, weapons and shields are fueled by cyrillium crystals. These can be purchased at regular starports or collected from planets. However, the player's storage capacity is limited by the storage holds of their ship. To fully rejuvenate your tactical systems, more fuel may be required than you can carry in your storage holds. Refueling ports allow for a rapid refresh of these tactical systems, bypassing your storage limits.
Throughout the in-game universe are diverse starports, initially buying and selling the three core commodities. Prices vary from port to port, and players earn revenue through commodity arbitrage.
Space Docks are special ports that the player can visit and explore. Space Docks offer special refueling stations, shipyards for buying and selling ships, an equipment depot (for purchasing special items), a bank, a cantina, ship storage as well as other areas.
There are various planet types, each fulfilling a different role. Planets are scattered throughout the universe, and can be created by players using a planetary generation device (PGD). Planets can be colonized and then developed. Colonists on developed planets extract resources from the planet and produce commodities. A sufficiently upgraded planet will have a metropolis, shield generator, atmospheric defenses, storage and banking facilities, as well as a growing population that will need to be managed. Special planets are prepopulated with aspiring colonists, who wish to be taken to an undeveloped planet for them to settle.
For every job, there is the correct tool. A wide array of different ships, each with their own advantages and disadvantages, will be available to players who will select the right ship (or ships) depending on how they wish to play the game and the resources at hand: freighters for transporting cargo, smaller ships for exploration, heavy cruisers, sentinels, corporate clippers etc. EEach ship has a unique (a) attack ratio, (b) defense ratio, (c) burn ratio (i.e. fuel efficiency) and (d) maximum storage capacity. Ships can be outfitted with special items and equipment to enhance their performance and strategic value.
Ships can be bought, sold, captured or destroyed*. They are the means of transportation, trade, and warfare for the player.
*With the exception of select special ships (currently only available during the NFT sale described below), which can only be captured.

Players can play on their own as privateers or form corporations to work collaboratively in the pursuit of galactic hegemony. Each player has a unique avatar, in the form of an NFT, which is the store of their in-game identity, known as their player card.
