The Bühler Group was founded by Aldolf Bühler in 1960, and is headquartered out of Uzwil, Switzerland. Bühler Group is a global supplier of flour production plants, pasta and chocolate production lines, animal feed manufacturing installations, and aluminum die casting systems. On September 12, 2017 Buhler Group announced acquiring Haas, an Austrian company making wafer, cookie, and confectionary production systems, for an undisclosed amount of money. At the time of acquisition Haas had 1,750 employees, manufacturing sites in 6 countries, and sales revenue exceeding €300 million. The CEO of Buhler Group, Stefan Scheiber, made the following statements regarding the companies acquisition of Haas:
