Brightpearl is an omnichannel retail management platform for inventory management, order processing and fulfillment, contact relationship management, and accounting automation. Brightpearl is headquartered in Bristol, UK. The company is privately owned and funded by Eden Ventures and Notion Capital.
Brightpearl grew out of Co-founder's Chris Tanner & Andrew Mulvenna's prior business, Lush Longboards, when Chris and Andy brought to market the software Chris had written to run Lush’s sales and operations (including its ecommerce website) under the name Pearl Software. Pearl software took on its first customer (outside of Lush) in 2008. By late 2009, the company had over 100 paying customers.
Pearl was renamed Brightpearl in early 2010, and took in its first outside investor, Eden Ventures. Eden was later joined by Notion Capital. By late 2011, over 6,000 companies had signed up to use its cloud-based business management platform. Brightpearl raised $8 million in 2013 and $5 million in 2011.
