Faculties
1. Agrotechnologies and Forestry - The faculty is the oldest unit of the university, its first activities were aimed to found an educational institution. The faculty has been renamed for several times since it was founded as Plant Growing in 1930. In 1933 it became Grain Production, in 1943 it was referred to as Crop Growing, then it had the status of the Agronomy faculty and Agrotechnologies and Agribusiness. It was reformed into the faculty of Agrotechnologies and Forestry on July 1, 2014.
Its main research areas:
study of soil formation processes and agroecological assessment of soil;
breeding and seed production of high productive environmentally adaptable early maturing varieties and hybrids of wheat, winter rye, sugar beet, clover, beans and sunflower;
scientific bases for crop and medicinal plants cultivation technologies;
production technologies to produce high-quality environmentally friendly plant products;
flow production technologies for high-protein fodder and alternative fodder crops;
agroecological features and application of biopreparations, bioactive fertilizers for seeds;
increasing efficiency of forests in the South Ural.
The faculty trained more than 12 highly-qualified experts, Bachelors and Masters.
2. Nature Management and Construction
he faculty was formed in the early 1970s to satisfy an arisen demand for qualified engineers to conduct necessary scientific studies and construct land reclamation facilities.
Its main research areas: Improving hydromechanization means of production processes in agriculture; price zoning of residential areas; land regulation in farm enterprises; higher efficiency of irrigated land use; integrated watershed management; maintenance monitoring and safety declaration of hydraulic structures; water quality prediction for water storage reservoirs in Bashkortostan; bed and foundation designing for site groundwater constraints; slope stability assessment.
More than 2,500 highly-qualified experts in Land Reclamation, Land Management and Land Regulation. graduated from our faculty.
The faculty consists of the following departments:
- Land Survey,
- Real Estate Cadastre and Geodesy,
- Land Management, Construction and Hydraulics.
3. Food Technologies
Food Technologies faculty was developed in 2001 to provide highly-qualified personnel for food and processing industries of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Our graduates are main heritage and pride. They have unique knowledge that helps them to take leading positions in different spheres and contribute to success of Bashkortostan and Russia.
The faculty closely cooperates with food processing enterprises where students undertake their internship and gain work experience. Important lectures and practical classes are given by leading food technology experts. Course works and graduation theses are usually based on internship data. There are university departments at leading food and processing enterprises to develop fundamental and applied researches for food production.
Today the faculty is engaged in chemical, technical and biological studies aimed at developing up-to-date technologies for animal and plant products production and processing, production of environmentally friendly food.
The faculty includes 4 departments:
- Chemistry,
- Life Safety and Technological Equipment,
- Catering Technology and Processing of Plant Raw Materials,
- Meat and Milk Technology.
4. Economics
Economics Faculty was established as the result of opening a new major on "Economy and Organization of Agriculture" in 1966.
The faculty consists of four specialized departments:
- Organization and Management;
- Economics of Farm Production;
- Accounting, Statistics and Information Systems for Economy;
- Finances and Credit.
The main research areas are: Improving financial architecture of economic systems; development of guidelines to improve accounting and economic analysis of business activities in farm enterprises; development of rural economy based on optimization of agricultural and non-agricultural activities; Management of enterprise economy (finance) in farm enterprises; economic issues in development of farm production; improving economic and statistical assessment of priority areas in innovative economy.
Students of the faculty take an active part in various regional and international competitions, contests, conferences, where they show good knowledge of their majors and win prizes.
Graduates of the faculty are in great demand in the labour market. A job of an economist has been always very popular and relevant, they can work in different fields and industries. In fact, there is no area where economists are not necessary or unpromising. They plan economic activities for a small department of an enterprise or a private company as well as conduct large-scale financial planning for economy of the whole country. The gained knowledge on Economics and work experience can be also helpful to start your own business.
5. Biotechnologies and Veterinary Medicine
The Faculty of Biotechnologies and Veterinary Medicine was founded by merging the faculties of Biotechnologies and Veterinary Medicine in 2012.
The Faculty of Biotechnologies started its history in 1930. It was first called as Animal Breeding. First animal breeders majored on Milk Production graduated from the Institution in 1933.
The Veterinary Medicine faculty was established in 1934. There was founded and operates a Vet Consulting and Diagnostic Centre. It includes an initial consultation room, a pet surgery room, an ultrasound scan and electrocardiography room, a laboratory for hematological, biochemical analysis and PCR, an X-ray room, a pharmacy, a pet boarding kennel.
