Israeli mathematician and computer scientist
Avi Wigderson is an Israeli computer scientist and mathematician born on September 9, 1956, in Israel. Wigderson holds Israeli citizenship and currently resides in the United States. He has received numerous awards, including the 2021 Abel Prize.
Wigderson was educated at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Princeton University, and Hebrew Reali School. Throughout his career, Wigderson has supervised several doctoral students, including Dorit Aharonov, Aviad Cohen, Ran Raz, Yuri Rabinovich, and Eli Ben-Sasson.
