Auddia was originally formed as Clip Interactive LLC in January 2012, as a limited liability company under the laws of the State of Colorado. In 2018, the company began development of new Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies that processes streamed audio input and identifies discrete segments of audio content, differentiating commercials, talk segments and songs. The new technologies will form the foundation of their Auddia platform and mobile app which will enable a subscription service for consumers to access commercial free radio.
In 2019, the company started development of a podcasting platform called Vodacast, which also leverages their core technologies.
In the beginning of 2020, Auddia filed with the SEC on Nasdaq to go public. The company is led by Founder and Chairman, Dr. Jeffrey Thramann, and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Lawless.
In 2014, Auddia announced a partnership with Entercom Communications, the fourth largest broadcaster in the US, to launch mobile apps for their Portland market. The company later went on to provide mobile and web services to all Entercom markets, deploying products for 129 radio stations.
The Auddia platform is a subscription-based commercial free AM/FM software service that allows subscribers to listen to any AM/FM radio station without commercials, skip content they don’t like and request content they want to hear. Listeners access this service through the Auddia mobile app. The app leverages proprietary AI technology, using machine learning to learn the difference between varying audio segments such as commercials, music, news, sports, traffic, weather, DJ chatter, etc., providing subscribers the ability to eliminate commercials and other content from their radio listening experience.
Vodacast is an interactive podcasting platform and app, allowing podcasters and their audiences interactive audio experiences. Podcasters create supplemental digital content on the Vodacast platform, which gives listeners the ability see video and other digital content in a digital feed that correlates with the podcast audio. This includes commercial content, which turns audio ads in podcasts into direct response enabled digital ads. All content presented in the digital feed can be synched to the podcast audio content. This allows users to visually experience and interact with audio content in podcasts, so long as the users are listening on the Vodacast app, or any other platform that supports the Vodacast enhanced digital feed.
