Astroscreen is a company that has used artificial intelligence to create software using machine learning and disinformation analysts with the purpose of identifying social media manipulation that has in the past led to political unrest, the spread of anti-vaccination conspiracies, and the defamation of brand names.

The company's software has various features such as fake account and (ro)bot detection. It detect social media manipulation depending on the context; for example, during a political election, a candidate's name or a political issue could be an indicator of manipulation. It can also uncover social media attackers organizing and mobilizing for an attack by detecting private chat groups and imageboards. Astroscreen can detect anomalies for specific topics as well, enabling it to recognize more than spam. Anomalies that can be detected include account creation date abnormalities. Using natural language processing, the software is able to discover linguistic patterns, thus showing if one user is operating multiple accounts.
