Dietrich Ulmer, Ingo Potthof and Oliver Kolbe founded smac partners founded in 2001. It was formerly known as Siemens Mobile Acceleration. It started as the corporate venture arm of Siemens Mobile. In 2006, smac | partners was established and advised its first independent fund.
