Cove.Tool is an Atlanta based automated big-data SaaS company that helps architects, engineers and contractors identify ways to make buildings high performance in terms of energy and cost.
According to a report by US Green Building Council (USGBC), in the US, the buildings sector contribute more carbon emissions than any other sector. The idea behind Cove.Tool is to help identify and implement the cost-effective and efficient resource bundles that can be used to meet a building's energy efficiency requirements. Cove.Tool was founded in 2017 by Sandeep Ahuja, Patrick and Daniel Chopson.Cove. Tool has raised a total of 850K in funding over 2 rounds.
Cove.Tool provides an option to enter parameters such as the building's use, its geographical location and dimensions to estimate its energy requirements. The tool will then run those parameters to figure out optimal resource combination under the set parameters. A user can then change different parameters such adding more glass etc. and see the energy adjustments. Teams can also work together within the platform, allowing multiple stakeholders i.e. engineers, architects and designers to see how the project is going. ArchDaily recently published this student union project that used cove.tool to save 40% energy and 1 million dollars in construction cost by utilizing optimization and data driven decision making.
