Arthur Yvor Winters (October 17, 1900 – January 25, 1968) was an American poet and literary critic.
Yvor Winters (1900-1968) was an American poet, author, writer, and journalist, born in Chicago, and held citizenship in the United States. He received his education at the University of Chicago, Stanford University, and the University of Colorado Boulder.
Winters authored several notable works, including "In Defense of Reason", "The Poetry of Yvor Winters", and "Forms of Discovery: Critical and Historical Essays on the Forms of the Short Poem in English". He passed away in Palo Alto, California, in 1968.
