Vladimir Vysotsky (25 January 1938 - 25 July 1980) was a versatile Soviet artist, known for his work as a poet, writer, singer-songwriter, guitarist, lyricist, actor, composer, screenwriter, and songwriter. Born in Moscow, Vysotsky was a citizen of the Soviet Union and later became a national of Russia.

Vysotsky studied at Moscow State University of Civil Engineering and Moscow Art Theater School. His artistic contributions spanned various genres, including prose, chanson, Bard (Soviet Union), and Russian chanson.

He had two children: Nikita Vysotsky and Arkady Vysotsky, who were also his parents' names—Nikita Vysotsky and Arkady Vysotsky. Vladimir Vysotsky passed away in Moscow on 25 July 1980.
