Vikram Sarabhai (born August 12, 1919 in Ahmedabad) was an Indian physicist and engineer. He was educated at St John's College, Cambridge and held citizenship in India and British Raj. Sarabhai is known as the founder of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts. He was also the father of Mallika Sarabhai. Vikram Sarabhai passed away on December 30, 1971, in Thiruvananthapuram.
As an influential person in the field of Indian science, Vikram Sarabhai played a pivotal role in establishing the foundation for the country's space program.
