"The meeting place cannot be changed (Mesto Vstrechi Izmenit' Nel'zya)" is a Soviet five-episode television film directed by Stanislav Govorukhin.
The script of Arkady and Georgy Vainer is based on the plot of their novel "The Era of Mercy (Era Miloserdiya".
Filming took place in 1978-1979. The pavilion scenes were filmed mainly at the Odessa Film Studio, the outdoor scenes were filmed in Moscow.
The main roles were played by Vladimir Vysotsky and Vladimir Konkin. The film also featured Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Sergei Yursky and a number of other famous Soviet actors.
The film takes place in post-war Moscow, where the Black Cat gang operates. The capture of the gang is carried out by employees of the department for combating banditry of the MUR, headed by Captain Zheglov.
The plot of the film echoes the real story of Ivan Mitin's Krasnogorsk gang, which was engaged in robberies and murders in Moscow and the Moscow region in the early 1950s.
