Sun Catalytix

Sun Catalytix Corporation was acquired by Lockheed Martin in 2014, furthering existing Lockheed Martin capabilities in the area of energy management and efficiency. The purchase includes certain intellectual property, contracts, facilities, and the transfer of the company's approximately 25 employees to Lockheed Martin. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed and are not material to Lockheed Martin.

Lockheed Martin Energy is behind GridStar® Flow, a redox flow battery made for long-duration, large-capacity energy storage applications. Their patented technology is based on the principles of coordination chemistry, providing electrochemistry consisting of engineered electrolytes made from earth-abundant materials.
