Steady, founded by Manuel Kallenbach, Dirk Holzapfel, Sebastian Esser, Philipp Schwörbel and Gabriel Yoran, launched in 2017. They offer a digital publication platform through which users can earn money through memberships, which are managed by Steady.
Steady markets their services towards journalists, bloggers, podcasters, videographers or vloggers, coders and those who seek an independent platform. Users are able to determine how and what they offer while retaining their rights, they can determine the price and details of their membership (including the option of trial memberships) and Steady offers users relevant statistics on their members.
They offer a membership based funding model, through which users can determine the cost of monthly subscription, from which steady takes 10% of gross revenue. For users, this frees them from standard subscription models, advertisers' sensitivities and one-time donations.
Steady works on REST-API.
In April of 2019, Steady announced the conclusion of a funding round for an undisclosed amount. Müller Medien and VC Fonds Kreativwirtschaft Berlin jointly invested in Steady.
