Overall information
SUoT is a leading multidisciplinary educational institution in the field of communications and informatization. It has the IV level of accreditation, provides training and retraining of specialists with higher education in a wide range of technical and other areas in educational and professional programs of all levels, conducts fundamental and applied scientific research, has a developed infrastructure of scientific and educational departments and institutions, a high level personnel and logistical support.
International cooperation with foreign universities and firms in Europe, Asia and the CIS is expanding. Students from China, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Congo and other countries study at the university.

Establishment of the Kyiv Institute of Communications of the Ukrainian State Academy of Communications. With the development of Ukraine, the range of training for an independent state has expanded and the demand for higher education institutions in the training of specialists in the field of telecommunications technology has increased. By the decision of the Ministry of Communications of Ukraine, the Kyiv Institute of Communications was established on the basis of the branch in 1996. Construction of a new five-storey building and a nine-storey dormitory
1979
Kyiv branch of the Odessa Electrotechnical Institute of Communications. In order to improve the quality of training in the field of communications in 1979, the correspondence faculty was reorganized into the Kyiv branch of the Odessa Electrotechnical Institute of Communications with the faculties of correspondence and evening studies. Since 1988, the branch has been headed by Professor Vasyl Kupriyanovych Stieklov.
1967
Kyiv Correspondence Faculty of the Odessa Electrotechnical Institute of Communications. Due to the fact that the NLC could no longer meet the needs of the Kyiv region, in 1967 it was transformed into the Kyiv Faculty of Correspondence, which began to train specialists in the following specialties: automatic telecommunications; multi-channel telecommunication; radio communication and radio broadcasting. The faculty was headed by Leonid Mykhailovych Andrushko, who for the first time in the Soviet Union defended his dissertation on the problems of fiber-optic communication lines, since 1988 he worked at the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva.
