Startup-in-a-Box (SIAB) is an incubator and accelerator sponsored by the UCLA Technology Development Group (TDG). The program was created in order to lower barriers and provide services to UCLA entrepreneurs. The program is available to UCLA faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, including those from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the UCLA School of Law. SIAB is also open to outside entrepreneurs who are licensing intellectual property from the university. The program welcomes applications year-round.
The SIAB program offers assistance through multiple phases of the venture startup process. These services include invention phase classes and events; maker spaces for prototyping; legal incorporation, banking and compliance in the new venture phase; legal incorporation, banking, compliance and accounting in the acceleration phase; and instruction in Amazon Web Services (AWS), insurance and human resources to assist with scaling.
