Selex Galileo, Inc. was an Arlington, VA-based defense and security electronics company and subsidiary of Italian multinational Leonardo S.p.A. Founded in 1991, Selex Galileo was acquired by Alenia Marconi Systems as part of the Finmeccanica Corporation (now Leonardo company). Selex Galileo provided technological support and manufacturing within the defense industry, working with Electro Optical and Electronic Warfare systems, Airborne Radar, Military Lasers, Simulators, Unmanned Aerial Systems, and ISR solutions. On January 1, 2020, Leonardo announced that Selex Galileo Inc. would be merging with Lasertel Inc. to form Leonardo Electronics US Inc., a US-based independent entity. The new company is based in Arlington, VA and works on technology within the defense, security, medical, automotive, and industrial sectors.
