The virtual reality experiences through Sandbox VR follow famous entertainment media stories, such as Star Trek: Discovery, Deadwood Mansion, Amber Sky 2008, and the Curse of Davy Jones. Players can go to an aforementioned location after booking a gaming session online. Between two and six people can encounter the experience in one room and it lasts for approximately one hour. They are given the necessary equipment for the adventure at the location, such as virtual reality glasses, sensors, and virtual reality weapons.
Sandbox VR has had three funding rounds, the latest one in 2019 being a Series A round. A total of $71 million had been raised in the most recent round. Investors include Andreessen Horowitz, FLOODGATE, and Alibaba.
