Renat Khasanshin is an engineer, entrepreneur, and investor.

Renat Khasanshin is a serial entrepreneur and investor. He has also worked as a software engineer before becoming an entrepreneur. His stated interests are developing solutions for consumers in the forms of infrastructure as a service and platform as a service.

Education and Career

Khasanshin attended Belarusian National Technical University from 1998 until 2001 and studied Hydrotechnical Engineering and Economics. He led research under the guidance of his associate professor on the subject of Neural Networks Modeling in E-commerce Using Kohonen Self Organizing Maps and had his findings published by esteemed organizations. He worked as a software engineer upon graduation and then segued into entrepreneurship.

In 2001, Khasanshin founded Altoros Systems, an IT services company, and is still a board member there. He went on to found Apatar, an open-source data integration software application. He started making notable angel investments in 2008, in companies including Webinar.ru, Printio.ru, Foodik.ru, and KeenPrint.com.

Khasanshin became a venture partner at Runa Capital in 2011 and a founding member of several decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), including Protofire DAO and Atomica DAO in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

Other accomplishments

Khasanshin has contributed to the technology industry, including acting as a representative in the Cloud Foundry Foundation and founding the Silicon Valley NewSQL User Group. He was also nominated for the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council New Leader of the Year and won the IBM Business Mashup Challenge in 2007.
