RapidSOS is a New York-based company that has used artificial intelligence to create software to streamline the process of relaying data to 911 and first responders. The software takes information during an emergency situation from connected devices, such as wearables, a connect car, a smart home, or a mobile application, and sends it to the appropriate emergency services.
The company offers various products in the categories of technology and Internet of Things solutions as well as public safety solutions. There are multiple application programming interfaces (API) that can be downloaded and connected to emergency services. Examples of APIs from RapidSOS include Location API, Static Flow API, and Multimedia API.
The product for public safety is a centralized clearing house. When an emergency is reported, data is sent from connected devices via Apple, Google, Uber, MedicAlert, and more. That data arrives at the RapidSOS Portal where emergency services can respond appropriately with the given information rather than relying solely on analogue voice call.
