RVmagnetics

Established in 2015 by Rastislav Varga, RVmagnetics is a research and development company in Slovakia, European Union developing a small passive sensor based on microwire. The company's microwire sensors are miniaturized (from 2 μm), magnetic, contactless sensors that measure physical quantities (temperature, pressure, pull, stress, torsion, position, magnetic field), with applications in the areas of security, aviation, IoT, IT and more.The scope of the company's work includes prototyping and customization, and the company combines aspects of microwires in electromechanics, electronics, chemistry, physics, applied magnetism and industrial design to create technology and R&D foundations.

RVmagnetics introduces MicroWire sensors

RVmagnetics provides a customized alternative sensor based on magnetic principles that can measure temperature down to 0,01°C resolution, covering a range from –273°C up to 600°C. The sensing solution can also provide pressure sensing.

RVmagnetics MicroWire is a passive sensor element without power-wiring that is able to be embedded into different materials and measure pressure, strain, torsion, bending, etc. The MicroWire is also able to cover structural health monitoring (SHM), detect cracks inside the material, and play a role in predictive maintenance of the user's products. It also provides temperature sensing.

RVmagnetics MicroWire sensor utilizes magnetic principles and measures magnetic field, position in the magnetic field, and orientation of an object (ex. product, part, implant). The passive MicroWire sensor helps users avoid sensor size and wiring restrictions, and enables the sensor to survive chemically aggressive environments (e.g. concrete).

RVmagnetics provides a multisensor of microdimensions with the ability to monitor and measure movement changes in micrometers and detect change in vibrations in 10 kHz. Both can be monitored with one interface. Rvmagnetics sensors can be applied in neurosurgery, electricity production, construction. It replaces typical vibration sensors like accelerometers or transmitters and utilizes a different physical principle.

RVmagnetics MicroWire is able to measure flow of different liquids or gases. Given the size and biocompatibility of MicroWire, continuous measurements of human blood flow are possible. Given the passive nature of the sensor, sensing of flow in oil and gas industries is also possible. As a result of MicroWire glass coating, the sensor is able to be present in different types of environments including industrial gases, acids, and other hazardous gases and liquids. When measuring flow, other data like total volume, level, velocity, and temperature can be obtained.

RVmagnetics MicroWire technology enables users to monitor power wires/power cords. The sensor can be clipped on the electric wire and users will be able to monitor electricity consumption, online, in real time, without power wiring. Smart sealings equipped with MicroWire can detect overheating of a power cord as a result of short-circuit, measure loss of current due to its break, or detect any incorrect power wire installation. It can be mounted in a building, car, electronics, or elsewhere.
