PlanetQuest is a blockchain-based game with a play-to-earn economyand decentralized storyline, which means gamers will be able to vote on main decisions capable of evolving the plot and affecting the future of the platform.
PlanetQuest is an explorative game in which players own planets and evolve and upgrade them for increased value. Users can invite friends to partake, go on adventures, collect resources, create bases, battle alien creatures, and locate game artifacts. The game possesses a decentralized storyline, which is determined by the users via voting on various dilemmas if chosen as representatives of their faction. PlanetQuest has a play-to-earn economy that spans from players, to the planets, to guilds. There are individual play rewards and quantum rewards. Players can lend gear to other players for a quantum fee, and planet and guild owners can get quantum bonuses depending on the performance of their players.
PlanetQuest is advertised as handing ownership and earning potential to its community. As a result of exchanges, some in-game assets are able to be purchased and sold, and the in-game earnings can become fiat currency. The technology runs right in the browser, and PlanetQuest is powered by planet-generating technology referred to as the Genesis Engine. It can procedurally create planets, which are then loaded and rendered in the web browser. The game sells planets as NFTs, and planets can be orbited in the browser or portrayed in augmented reality directly on mobile devices.
Claudiu Barsan, technology director of PlanetQuest said:
“We knew that with PlanetQuest, we wanted to push the limits of how many of the assets in our game could exist on the blockchain and truly be owned by players. Few technologies available today can offer the kind of transaction volume Immutable X can handle, and none do so with its level of security and ease of use. Which is why we’re thrilled to team up with Immutable X and reveal PlanetQuest to the world together.
The Genesis Engine is capable of generating planets in a player's browser. Each planet is advertised to be different, with interlinked intricate details. The planet's temperature decides whether or not it will possess polar caps. The available body of water corresponds with the number of clouds moving over the planet, including the size of any forests and other kinds of vegetation. The Genesis Engine constructs different details for planet creation in 3D that are claimed to follow natural laws.
The developers in the creation of the engine assess planet texture, relief, shadows, any interplay amongst nebulas behind planets, the atmospheric color, and other details. Though every planet is said to be distinct, the game offers four classes of planets and they are based on rarity.
They include the following:
The utility token for PlanetQuest is referred to as Quantum, or PQX. PQX is used in-game to engage with the marketplace, create gear, get interplanetary transport, rename planets, and activate ancient artifacts. The total supply for Quantum is 2.5 billion, and its expected complete distribution is over the span of six years. Both public and private sales account for about 17 percent of its supply, and its team of developers gets 22.5 percent. 2.5 percent is kept aside for advisors, and 5 percent is stored in reserve.
About 4 percent will be put into liquidity pools, while the remaining 46 percent is meant for reward distribution.
Players get Quantum via ownership of planet and guild NFTs, though the reception is not passive. Planet owners are required to encourage growing player activity in their own domain, and guild owners are required to convince victorious planet owners to be a part of their organization. Additionally, anyone who owns gear NFTs can rent them out to other players.
In February 2022, PlanetQuest partnered with Infinity Force to add an Advanced Yield Management System into the game. Infinity Force is a streamlined guild-management system. The system offers some asset owners analytics on the asset and tool performance for yield generation optimization. As a result, planet owners and players can bypass security issues surrounding asset sharing. The Infinity Force infrastructure can natively support asset lending, guild building, automated payment, recruitment and training, as well as performance management, and deliverable analytics.
