Fabritz was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. He played basketball at Mesa Community College and Northern Arizona University. He graduated from Arizona State University in Tempe with a B.S degree in Exercise and Wellness and developed his training methodology (the "PJF Performance methodology").
Fabritz is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and is certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). He holds certifications as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CES), and is certified in Functional Movement Screen (FMS).
Fabritz owns and operates a private high performance training facility (PJF Performance, Inc) in Anaheim, California where he trains numerous NBA/WNBA first round draft picks. He is known for his work on vertical jump biomechanics and ground reaction forces, partnering with Cal State Fullerton Biomechanics. Fabritz continues to conduct research in injury prevention and corrective exercise modalities which informs his program design. He is one of six trainers sponsored and endorsed by Adidas hoops. He has contributed material on sport and sport injuries in various publications.
