Oswald Veblen

Oswald Veblen (June 24, 1880 – August 10, 1960) was a mathematician from the United States. He was born in Iowa and passed away in Brooklyn. Veblen studied at Harvard University and had a significant impact on the field of mathematics through his work as a teacher and a researcher.

Throughout his career, Veblen guided several doctoral students, including Tracy Yerkes Thomas, J. H. C. Whitehead, Henry Roy Brahana, and Howard Hawks Mitchell.
