Nikolai Semashko (medicine)

Nikolai Semashko (birth name: Nikolay Alexandrovich Semashko), born on September 8, 1874, was a prominent physician, politician, and revolutionary from the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. He was educated at the Kazan (Volga region) Federal University, and his place of birth was Lipetsk Oblast.

Throughout his career, Semashko received a variety of prestigious awards, including the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Medal "For the Defense of Moscow", and the Medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945".

Nikolai Semashko passed away on May 18, 1949, in Moscow.
