National Research Council Canada (NRC) is a government organization that is composed of 20 institutes and national programs, spanning many disciplines and offering various services. It usually funds pre-seed rounds, grants and venture rounds. Its portfolio companies include NURO CORP, HRG Infrastructure Monitoring Inc, Byos, Sinitic, Testfire Labs, QRA Corp, DokDok, and Lysac Technologies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the NRC launched several programs to aid in lessening the damage that the virus can cause on a society. Programs included biomanufacturing initiatives, research and development for vaccines, and financial support for small-to-medium sized business programs.
