John DeLorean (1925-2005) was an American engineer, best known for founding the DeLorean Motor Company. He was born in Detroit and held citizenship in the United States. DeLorean completed his education at the University of Michigan.

Throughout his career, John DeLorean's primary occupation was as an engineer. He eventually went on to establish the DeLorean Motor Company, which produced the iconic DeLorean DMC-12 sports car.

DeLorean passed away on March 19, 2005, in Summit, New Jersey.
